Ministry of National Defense has stated today (31^st) that two Shenyang J-11 fighter aircrafts crossed the Taiwan Strait’s median line today at 11:00 and entered the southwest airspace of the Taiwan Strait; the fighter aircrafts returned to the airspace to the west of the Taiwan Strait’s median line after reconnaissance and patrol fighter aircrafts were dispatched along with additional fighter aircrafts for emergency liftoff interception as well as implementation of evacuation broadcast.

Regarding fighter aircrafts of the People’s Liberation Army crossing the Taiwan Strait’s median line, Ministry of National Defense solemnly objects and condemns this provocative action from the People’s Liberation Army, which has severely impacted regional safety and stability, and damaged the peacefulness shared by all parties in each region. Ministry of National Defense emphasized that citizens can rest assured that the Armed Forces will be upholding the principle of “No Provocation, No Retreat” when facing various provocations and threats, and will protect the national sovereignty and the safety of national lives and property in accordance with relevant regulations of combat readiness.
